Best and Worst Foundations For Oily \Acne Skin

foundations

This post comes at a time when my skin is not at its best. I have been dealing with a lot of whiteheads and makeup is what I truly love its the very reason I started taking care of my skin so that I can enjoy my foundation routine.

There are a lot of foundations on the market some are good and some are bad for acne-prone skin. In this post, I will be breaking down the best and the worst foundations.
So I will start with what is recommended and then go in with what bad ingredients to look out for.

First, it is better to understand your skin. If you have acne or oily skin your skin is already considered inflamed. So, therefore, your foundation must not irritate your skin.
Hyperpigmentation is the reason I love high coverage foundation and if you are using the foundation that has the not so good ingredients it could make your hyperpigmentation worse.

The first foundation on the list is the Mac Studio Fluid foundation. This foundation came as a surprise because I have never really gravitated towards Mac as a brand. The Mac Studio Fluid foundation has :

  • No fragrance
  • No Alcohol
  • No Comogentic ingredient
  • Algae Extract

This foundation is very hydrating and its also highly recommended for dry skin types.

The next foundation is breaking my heart.I have used the Estee lauder foundation for about two years now and I have to say it has not given me any trouble. It, unfortunately, falls under the not so for your skin foundation. It contains Polyglyceryle-3 disslereat which is not good for your pores. I don’t use this foundation very often maybe that’s the way my skin hasn’t reacted to it.

It was on my list for foundations to try but I might change my mind. The Fenty Beauty Foundation has

  • Talc
  • Parfum
  • Papay Extract which is a skin sensitizer.

I know this list looks so defeating but if you have acne you will do anything to protect and clear your skin. I personally thought ingredients in makeup are not as important.

In the last week, I have had so my whiteheads and I was using the Nyx Born to glow foundation. After I removed my makeup I would get a fresh set of pimples.

Now I realize I love using this foundation but it is not good for my skin. I content the bad stuff.

  • Talc
  • Denatured Alocol

So no matter how you look at it. If you developed your skincare routine to target your issues and yet the foundation you put on every morning it takes you back to square one you won’t see the difference.

After my break out I didn’t just look for a water-based foundation. I started to look further down the ingredient list for more culprits that might be giving my skin more trouble.

So to conclude this post Mac has to be more of an everyday foundation then all the foundations. It’s not to say that you cant use these foundations but for me, it will be occidental to wear rather than every day.
